William "Rusty" Snyder

William R. "Rusty" Snyder, 70, of Gardners, passed away  Tuesday, October 16, 2018 in the UPMC Pinnacle Carlisle. He was born April 9, 1948 in Carlisle to the late Charles W. and Louetta Mae (Wagner) Snyder.

Rusty was a Carlisle High School graduate, Class of 1966, a United States Air Force veteran, serving during the Vietnam War and retired from Tyco Electronics  as a tool and die maker.  He was a member of the Classic Car Club, Mt. Holly Springs VFW Post 7343 and American Legion Post 674, Churchtown Church of God, NRA, Haussman's Hunting Club and the East Coast 4 Wheel Drive Association. Rusty loved to go hunting, spending time at the cabin and going to his grandson, Caden's ball games. He enjoyed working on his classic car projects.

Surviving is his loving wife, Ondrea May (Stelzer) Snyder of Gardners; four children, Jason Snyder and wife, Melissa of Gardners, Chris Snyder and wife, Danielle of Newville, Megan Snyder of Harrisburg and Pegan Smith and husband, Tim of Newville; grandchildren, Amber Heffner and husband, Alan, Krista Day, TJ Smith, Rebecca Day, Caden Snyder and Cody Snyder; great-grandchildren, Alexa, Hunter and Keliah. Also surviving are his siblings, Bobby Snyder and wife, Kathleen of Mechanicsburg and Pam Dressler and husband, Ben of Lewisberry. He is preceded in death by his cousin, Kenny Snyder.

A funeral service will be held Monday, October 22, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs ,PA 17065 with Rev. Brian Warner officiating. A viewing will be begin at 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens with Military Honors provided by the Cumberland County Honor Guard.
