Walter Morda

Walter Edward Morda, 91, of Carlisle, PA passed away on Thursday, March16, 2017, at his home. Born August 27, 1925 in Kittanning, PA to the late Edward and Christina Pabst Morda, he is survived by his loving wife, Jennie Plocha Morda.

A WWII Navy veteran, Walter was also a member of the St. Patrick Church.

He retiredas a supervisor from PPG Industries after 38 years of service and enjoyed woodworking and hunting.As an avid Pittsburgh fan: Steelers, Penguins, Pirates and Pitt Panthers, Walter rooted for them all.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Walter E. Morda Jr., wife Jean and their children,Tim and Andrew; and John D. Morda, wife Sue and their children, Kimberly and Windsor; and daughter, Christine J. Needham, husband Harold, and their children, Ben and Stacey. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Bridget Morda and siblings, James Morda, Edna Semmens and Delores Fox.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 20, 2017 at 11:30 AM with the Very Reverend William C. Forrey as Celebant at St. Patrick Church, 85 Marsh Dr., Carlisle, PA 17015. Burial will be in the St. Patrick Cemetery with Military Honors Conducted by The Cumberland County Honor Guard. There will be a viewing on Sunday, March 19, 2017 from 2-4PM and 6-8 PM at the Hollinger Funeral Home, 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt.
