Suzanne M. McDougall

On Thursday, September 17, 2026, at the age of 70, surrounded by family, Suzanne Marie McDougall peacefully moved on from this life into the next.

Suzanne was born August 2, 1956, in Castle Shannon, PA, to William “Bill” and Catherine “Kitty” Williams, the third of their twelve children. She reunites with her parents, and her youngest sister, Julianne Coyne. She will be missed every single day by her husband of 46 years, William “Mac” McDougall, her four daughters Molly Boegel, Megan (Justin) Doty, Brigid (Kellan) Lowe, and Mary (Brian) Prendergast, her grandchildren Henry, Alice, Brooks, Liam, Owen, Sam, Silas, Lily, Claire, Sam, Will, and Jack, and so many family members and friends who became family.

Suzanne loved and believed in God with a faith that never wavered. She was beautiful in every way a person can be. She listened with her whole self, always without judgment. She met people where they were and trusted the good in others. As a mother, she gave her four daughters the kind of love and encouragement that made them brave enough to build lives of their own. No matter their age, she remained the person they wanted to go to with good news, bad news, a funny story, or nothing important at all, just to talk.

She had the wildest imagination and delighted in playing make-believe with her grandkids—they brought her joy beyond measure. She loved nature and gardening and knew the name of nearly every flower. She never passed up dessert. She loved good music and could own an entire dance floor with her nearly perfect rendition of Elaine’s dance from Seinfeld. She had the best smile in the world and was an easy laugh, especially around her sons-in-law, who adored her. With her many beloved friends, siblings, nieces, and nephews she was generous with her attention, time, and spirit.

And no matter what was happening, or who was there, she always loved to be next to Mac—on the deck having coffee, sitting on the sidelines together cheering on a grandchild, or in the car exploring some new part of the world.

She loved life. She loved the people who made her life as rich and wonderful as it was. To try and count them all would be like counting the stars. To try to explain the way her love felt would be like trying to explain the way it feels to know you are home.

A viewing will be held Wednesday, September 30, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 501 N. Baltimore Ave, Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, October 1, 2026, at 11:00 AM in the St. Patrick Shrine Church, 152 E Pomfret St, Carlisle, PA 17013 with Father William Forrey officiating.
