Shirley J. Kipps, 102, of Carlisle, PA, passed away on January 3, 2026, in Chapel Pointe at Carlisle. She was born on March 8, 1923, in Carlisle to the late Stuart and Ida (Morrison) McKeehan and was the widow of Cletus Kipps, Sr.
Shirley worked for Mooreland Elementary in the cafeteria and was a member of the Carlisle First Church of God. Shirley loved her family and enjoyed holiday gatherings where she was well known for her great cooking and especially her famous chocolate meringue pie. She was the beloved matriarch of her family and will be remembered for her quick wit, impeccable organizational skills and beautiful smile. Shirley loved being with her family and watching her family grow.
Surviving are her children, Cletus (Sandra) Kipps, Jr. of Carlisle and Cathy (Karl Weidner) Neff of Mt. Holly Springs; six grandchildren, Jeffrey (Penny Seaks) Kipps, Jackie (Michael) Musselman-Read, Meaghan (Kevin) Rosso, Lindsay (Mark) Abruzzo, Lauren (Brett) Smith, and Jordan (Leah Starner) Neff; ten great grandchildren and three great- great grandchildren; siblings, Barbara Straub of Mechanicsburg, Robert McKeehan of Boiling Springs, and William McKeehan of Carlisle; and son-in-law, Marty Clarke of Berlin, MD. In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley was preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Clarke of Berlin, MD, siblings, Edgar (Toby) McKeehan, Parker McKeehan, James McKeehan, Betty McBride, Paul McKeehan, Lois Chiappetta, Margaret Mowery and John McKeehan; and son-in-law, James Neff of Mt. Holly Springs.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 11:00 AM in the Carlisle First Church of God, 705 Glendale Street, Carlisle, PA 17013 with Rev. Michael Poe officiating. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will take place privately in the Westminster Cemetery, Carlisle.
