Ruth Gardner

Ruth Gardner, 86, of Carlisle passed away at her home on Wednesday April 11, 2018. She was born August 5, 1931 in Cabins, WV and was the daughter of the late Olie & Virginia (Sollars) Mick. Ruth was the widow of Branson Gardner and was predeceased by two sisters, Clarise Likens and Vivian Baker. Ruth has a brother, Olie (Norma) Mick Jr. of Carlisle and two sisters, Doris (Olen) Gardner of Carlisle and Joann Gardner of Mt. Holly Springs.

Ruth was a homemaker and member of the Carlisle Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She loved flowers, mowing her own grass and sewing. Ruth loved spending time with her two great granddaughters, Layna and Kady Magnuson. She is survived by her daughter, Patty (Larry) Stover of Newville and son-in-law, Howie Miller of Carlisle. She was predeceased by her daughters, Barbie Shuler and Peggy Miller. Ruth had six grandchildren, Matt (Renee) Stover, Amy (Jeff) Magnuson, Meredith (Paul) Orr, Melissa Miller, Jason (Jenny) Miller, and Glenn (Kyla) Corman. Ruth also had seven great-grandchildren, Layna, Kady, Abby, Zack, Brandon, Rachael, and Aliesha.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Carlisle Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses with Elder Charles Rowell officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be in the Westminster Memorial Gardens at the convenience of the family.
