Ross Shuler

September 24, 1921 — August 20, 2017

Ross L. Shuler, 95, of Carlisle, PA, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2017 at his residence. Ross was born Saturday, September 24, 1921 in East Pennsboro Township, to the late Harry M. and Ethel M. Morrow Shuler. He is the widower of Betty R. Shuler who passed away May 15, 2012.

Ross was a graduate of the Mechanicsburg High School and was member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Mechanicsburg. He retired from the Mobil Oil Co. A World War II Army veteran,  Ross achieved the rank of S/SGT in the 19th Infantry, G Co., 24th Division and earned the Combat Infantry Badge, Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Pearl Harbor Medal, two Battle Stars and an Arrow Head. Ross was a life member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association and Disabled American Veterans (DAV). Other memberships included:  Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 477, American Legion Post 109, Cumberland Star Lodge No. 197, Scottish Rite Valley of Harrisburg and Scottish Rite Club of Shippensburg.

His siblings were, Miriam Luther, Shirley Hess, Wayne Shuler, Paul Shuler, and Harold Shuler.

A Graveside Service will be held Monday, August 28, 2017 at 1:00 PM at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA  with Rev. Walter Frankenberry officiating.
