Ross Richwine

Ross J. Richwine, 89, of Dillsburg, PA, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2016 in Manor Care, Carlisle. He was the widower of Margaret Janet Cleaver Richwine who passed away March 5, 1971. Ross was born August 12, 1926 in Adams County to the late Ross M. and Anna Maude Davis Richwine.  He retired from L. B. Smith Ford and also worked at Kuhns-Harnish Ford and Buckley Ford. He loved tinkering with lawn mowers and small engines, and until recently, walked 3 miles a day. An avid hunter and fisherman, his memberships included, “Suits Us Hunting Camp” in Tioga Co. and Yellow Breeches Anglers.  Ross was a member of the Uriah United Methodist Church and was an Army veteran of WWII.

He is survived by his wife, Jean M. Kline Richwine, whom he married in December 1974; two sons, Roger J. (Cindy) Richwine of Newville and Larry D.(Barbara) Richwine of Dillsburg; two daughters, Debra K. (Gary) Morris of Boiling Springs and Tammy L. (Randy) Straw of Dillsburg. Also surviving are four step sons, James E. Bosserman of Mechanicsburg, Larry R. and Rodney L. Bosserman, both of York and Kevin L. Bosserman of New Bloomfield; 11 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and five sisters, Lorraine Brandt of Carlisle and Zula Richwine, Hilda Richwine, Darlene Baker and Zeina Miller, all of Gardners. He was predeceased by his siblings, Lillian Ream, Virginia Rowe and Eugene Richwine.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 10:00 AM, with Rev.  Jeffery A. Canankamp, officiating at the Uriah United Methodist Church, 925 Goodyear Rd., Gardners, PA 17324. Interment will be in the church cemetery. A viewing will be held Friday, June 17, 2016 in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs PA 17065 from 6 to 8 PM and 1 hour prior to the service on Saturday in his church.
