Rosella M. Jumper

Rosella Mae (Smith) Jumper, 91, a resident of the Thornwald Home in Carlisle and formerly of Gardners, PA, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, in the UPMC Carlisle Hospital. She was born on January 26, 1934, in Gardners, to the late Lloyd and Evelyn Smith. She was the widow of Robert M. Jumper, Sr. who she married on February 2, 1952 and who passed on November 6, 2000.

Rose resided for most of her life in the Hunters Run/Gardners areas. She worked at Orweco Frocks in both Mt. Holly Springs and Mechanicsburg for over 30 years until their closing. Rose then worked at McDonalds in Carlisle for a short time before retiring from the Carlisle/Newville Ribbon Mills at the age of 79. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, sewing, thrift store shopping, gardening and being with her children and grandchildren.

Surviving are her children, Robert M. Jumper, Jr., of Gardners, Dennis J. Jumper of Gardners, Wendy S. Altice of Gardners, and Sherry L. Leffler (Todd) of Mechanicsburg. Grandchildren, Brian (Jackie) Altice of Aspers, Josh Jumper of Mt. Holly Springs, Amy (Dave) Grace of Dillsburg, Sonia (Michael) Altice of Gardners, Amanda Jumper of Gettysburg, Chelsea Leffler of Philadelphia and Caitlynn Leffler of Stroudsburg. She is also survived by 13 Great-grandchildren, two sister-in-laws, numerous nieces and nephews and many special friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two brothers, Leroy and Robert Smith and a son-in-law, Clarence Altice.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 11:00 AM in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 501 N. Baltimore Ave, Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065 with Pastor Dan Murray officiating. A viewing will be held Friday, January 2, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the Hollinger Funeral Home and one hour prior to services on Saturday. Burial will take place in the Mt.
