Roman J. Pawloski (Ray), 92, of Carlisle, PA died on March 25, 2024 at Thornwald Home. Born in Wanamie, PA on November 28th, 1931 to the late Joseph and Stasia Pawloski. He was a Newport Township High School graduate and enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, serving as a military policeman. Following military service, in 1955, he joined the Pennsylvania State Police, serving in Troops T, S, N and H. Ray advanced through the ranks to Lieutenant and served as the station commander in troops S and H. He retired as station commander of troop H, Chambersburg, PA, after 32 years of faithful service, in 1986. He was also a graduate of the FBI National Academy.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife Virginia (Ream) Pawloski who passed away in April, 2015. He is also preceded in death by his sisters Josephine Pierzchala and Celestine Szychowski. He is survived by his daughter Debra Watson and husband Mike, Granddaughters Abby (Heineman) Coulter and husband Neil and Beth Ann (Brinley) Ayoub and husband Bert. As well as Great Grandsons Wesly and Gage.
He enjoyed playing golf, deer hunting, routing for the Steelers and playing pinochle and poker. He was a member of the FOP Keystone Lodge 41, Pennsylvania State Troopers Association, Retired State Police of PA, Carlisle Elks Lodge 578, American Legion Post 181.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the St Patrick Catholic Church, 87 Marsh Drive, Carlisle PA 17015. Interment will be in the St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the St Patrick's Church, Carlisle PA. Arrangements are being handled by Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Mt. Holly Springs.
