Robert Shaffer

Robert Emory Shaffer, 96, of Carlisle, passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at the Forest Park Health Center. Robert was born July 18, 1921 in Winber, PA to the late Dewey and Nellie Criswell Shaffer. He is the widower of Margie L. Wirick Shaffer.

Robert was the owner and operator of Shaffer Steel, Newville, PA. In 1980, he moved to Vero Beach, FL. Robert was a 50 year member of the Moose Lodge #761, Carlisle, PA.

Surviving is his daughter, Carolyn K. Kuntz of Carlisle; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; three brothers, Charles and Dewey Shaffer of Newville, and Irvin Shaffer of Carlisle; three sisters, Delores Stratler of Georgia, Mary Lou Bowman of Harleysville, and Pheobe Bear of Carlisle. Robert is preceded in death by a son, Larry Shaffer; brothers, Melvin and Clarence Shaffer; and sister, Vernetta Bunton.

Services will be privately at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place in the Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle, PA.
