Robert David Bear

Robert “Bob” David Bear, 78, of Mt. Holly Springs, PA, passed away on July 29, 2025, in his home. He was born June 14, 1947, in Mt. Holly Springs, to the late Harry and Geraldine (Kopp) Bear.

Bob was a Carlisle High School graduate, where he played on the undefeated football team. He retired from PPG (now Vitro) Glass Plant in Carlisle. Bob coached Little League Baseball for the “Lions Club Team” for over 9 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 674 and VFW Post 7343 both in Mt. Holly Springs. Bob had a deep love for the outdoors and spent many cherished days at his cabin in Potter County. He especially enjoyed hunting and was known for his remarkable talent in building things. Bob will be remembered for his dedication, craftmanship, and the way he generously gave his time to others.

Surviving is his loving wife, Karla (Kauffman) Bear of Mt. Holly Springs; son, Chad Bear of Carlisle; grandchildren, Alissa, Spencer, and Kylie; and brother, Art Bear of Boiling Springs. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his son, Scott Bear; brother, Leroy Bear, and brother-in-law, Kim Kauffman.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065 with Rev. Richard Reese officiating. A viewing will be held Monday, August 4, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the Hollinger Funeral Home and one hour prior to services on Tuesday. Burial will take place in the Mt. Holly Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VFW Post 7343, 424 N Walnut St, Mt Holly Springs, PA 17065.
