Richard H. Cook, 77, of Carlisle, PA passed away December 28, 2016 in the Carlisle Regional Medical Center. He was born February 16, 1939 in Mechanicsburg, PA to the late Calvin and Alice Kathryn (Messinger) Cook. Retired from Lear Corp (formerly C. H. Masland & Sons.) Member of the following: The Meeting House (formerly Carlisle Brethren in Christ Church), Masonic Lodge Cumberland Star Lodge No. 197, F&AM of Pennsylvania, Gettysburg Regional Antique Automobile Club of America, the technology team of the former Carlisle Brethren In Christ Church, and previously served as an usher at Grace United Methodist Church. He enjoyed antiquing, antique/classic cars, public sales and hunting.
Surviving are his wife, Arla Lehman Cook; son, Douglas (Amy) Cook of Carlisle; a daughter, Marjorie (Sean) Dean of Severn, MD; five grandchildren, Jonathan, Benjamin and Ariella Cook, Abigail and Olivia Dean. Siblings are brothers, David Cook of York Springs and Russel Cook of Carlisle; sisters, Alice McCartney and Clara McCoy both of Carlisle, Patricia Shannon of Mt. Holly Springs, and Doris Marsh of Gardners .
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 11AM at The Meeting House (Sanctuary), 1155 Walnut Bottom Rd, Carlisle, PA 17015, with message by Dr. Alan Robinson. Luncheon reception will follow immediately after the service. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in the Sunnyside Cemetery, York Springs with Rev. Richard Reese officiating.
