Richard John Buckley, 94, of Gardners, PA, passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2026, in his home surrounded by family. He was born July 29, 1931, in Gettysburg to the late John Franklin and Iva (Kump) Buckley. He was the widower of Emma Jane (Riley) Buckley who passed away in 2021.

Richard proudly served in the United States Army serving during the Korean War. He retired from Carlisle Cadillac Buick GMC where he worked as a foreman in the body shop for 20 plus years. Richard then later worked for Carlisle Mall as part time mall security. He was a former member of the Adams County Handgunners Association. He enjoyed spending time outdoors; especially hunting and fishing and was an avid woodworker. Richard was a jokester and loved to laugh. He loved bluegrass music and family gatherings. In his later years, Richard loved riding his four-wheeler and just being outdoors.

He is survived by his children, Joyce Cooper of Great Bend, PA, Cindy Keefauver of Gardners, and Jamie Chapman of Dillsburg; eleven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren; sister, Mary Jane Clapsaddle of Ortanna; brother, Glenn Buckley of New Oxford; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Richard was preceded in death by his sons, David, Jason, and Gordon Buckley; and siblings, Earl and Kenneth Buckley.
