Richard D. Barclay

Richard “Peanut” D. Barclay, Sr., 71, of Carlisle, PA, passed away Friday, May 22, 2026, in his residence. He was born on December 26, 1954, in Carlisle, to the late David and Elizabeth (Failor) Barclay.

Richard was a farmer in his younger years and later went on to work for Leer Corporation, where he was a forklift operator. In his spare time, Richard enjoyed fishing, watching NASCAR, indulging in an adult beverage and was an avid New York Giants fan. He enjoyed hunting, and loved to go to New York to watch the wildlife at Christas house.

Surviving is his loving wife, Bonny (Stone) Barclay of Carlisle; children, Christa (Mike) Kendall of New York and Courtney Barclay of Carlisle; grandchildren, Kendall McCloud (Hanford), Dylan Kendall (fiancé, Kathleen Snyder), Richard Baublitz, Zander Baublitz, and Autumn Johnson; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Hweqwidi McCloud; and siblings, Mary Nickey and David Barclay, Jr. Richard was preceded in death by his son, Richard Barclay, Jr., and brother in law, Bill Nickey.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 5:00 PM in The Meeting House, 1155 Walnut Bottom Rd., Carlisle, PA 17015. Arrangements are being handled by the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065.
