Obituary

Paul “Ted” Theodore Reed, 78, of Carlisle, PA, passed away on May 26, 2026, in his home. He was born on July 13, 1947, in Harrisburg, PA.

Ted proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 20 years, including service during the Vietnam War. He worked in human services for the State of Alaska. Ted was a member of the First Church of God in Plainfield where he was very involved. Ted was always willing to lend a helping hand to his community. He worked closely with local fire companies, using his drone to assist with search and rescue efforts and emergency response situations. He also shared his talents by providing aerial photography and videography for weddings and community events.

Surviving is his loving wife, Sharon (Seibert) Reed of Carlisle; children, Paul Anthony Reed (Carrie) and Lorie Ann (Reed) Kidwell (Andrew) both of Wasilla, Alaska; 3 grandchildren, Samuel Reed, Jorie (Lauren) Reed-Lovett, and Jessica Reed-Lovett (Erin Johnson); great grandchildren, Ember Reed-Lovett, Kyler Reed-Lovett, and Landon Reed-Lovett.

Memorial Services will be held Sunday, June 7, 2026, at 2:00 PM in the Plainfield First Church of God, 2089 Newville Road, Plainfield, PA 17081. Burial will take place on Monday, June 8, 2026, at 11:00 AM in the Plainfield Church of God Cemetery, 59 W Main St, Plainfield, PA 17015 with military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a Veterans Organization of your Choice or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements are being handled by Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Mt. Holly Springs.
