Outhay Chanthavong

Outhay Chanthavong, 80, of Harrisburg, PA died Saturday, November 24, 2012 surrounded by his family at the home of his son in Harrisburg, PA. Outhay was born on June 5, 1932 in Pakse, Laos.

While living in Pakse, Laos, Outhay graduated from Pakse High School and was employed as a police officer in Pakse, Laos.  During his free time, he enjoyed fishing and reading books on world culture and Buddhism.

He is survived by his loving wife, Soubinh; a daughter, Thongsy Chanthavong of Philadelphia,PA; Four sons; Leuam of Philadelphia, PA, Olay of Connecticut, Tyler of Harrisburg, PA and Bounkong of Louisiana.  He was also preceded by a son Vixay Chanthavong and several brothers and sisters.  Also surviving are eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

A Buddhist ceremony will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 1:00 PM in the Hollinger Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, PA.  There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:30 AM until time of services.  Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
