Norris O. McCoy, 85, of Mechanicsburg passed away Friday, Nov. 16 in his home. He was born August 30, 1927 in Cumberland County to the late Ernst & Rilda Bowermaster McCoy. Norris retired from the former Central Storage as a supervisor. He was a member of Eagles Arie # 1299, the White Circle Club and the Mechanicsburg Club. Norris also enjoyed gardening and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife, Etta Brown McCoy; a son, Gary L. McCoy of Harrisburg; and a daughter, Kimberly S. McCoy of Mechanicsburg. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Meghan M. McCoy of Kentucky, Second Lt. Keegan S. McCoy, stationed in California with the U.S. Air Force, and Ryne M. McCoy of Harrisburg. In addition, there are seven surviving sisters, Romaine Mackey of Carlisle, Isabel McCoy of Boiling Springs, Jane Wolf of New Oxford, and Erma Heffelbower, Marie Tanger, Katherine Snyder and Doris Griffie, all of Boiling Springs.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, November 21 at 10:00 AM in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs with the Rev. Daniel Dennis officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Holly Springs Cemetery. A viewing will be held Tuesday, Nov, 20 in the funeral home from 6 until 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hershey Medical Center, for Cancer Research or Heart Research, 500 University Dr., Hershey, PA 17033 or to the Otterbein United Methodist Church, 647 Forge Rd., Carlisle, PA 17015.
