Mildred Appleman

Mildred “Millie” Appleman, 66, of Newville, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2014 in Harrisburg Hospital, surrounded by her husband and daughters. She was born on July 18, 1947, in Harrisburg and was the daughter of the late Charles and Catherine Spickler Zerby.

Millie was a long time employee of Kinney Shoe Corp. and Carlisle Syntec. She enjoyed reading, watching cooking shows and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 25 years, Donald B. Appleman; two daughters, Tina Heiges Otto and her husband James A. of Mt. Holly Springs and Lisa Heiges of Shippensburg; and two step-daughters, Sherri Appleman and Allison Appleman,  both of Harrisburg. She has seven grandchildren: Andrew, Keirsten, Lauren, Jacob, Matthew, Shanai, Arianna and Peyton, and one great grandson, Carson.  Also surviving is her sister, Josephine Rushow of Middletown; her brother, Joseph Zerby of Harrisburg; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Coy Spickler and Mark Zerby and a granddaughter, Kaley Jo. Services will be held at the convenience of the family.  Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 N.
