Mervin L. Kuhn

Mervin L. Kuhn, Sr., 80, of Newville, PA, passed away Saturday, December 6, 2025, in the Letort Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was born May 20, 1945, in Carlisle, PA, to the late Mervin and Laura M. (Kuhn) Bolen.

Mervin was a self-employed painter and went on to work for Valk Industries, part time, during his retirement. He was an avid NASCAR fan, enjoyed camping, loved going to casinos with friends, playing poker, watching horse racing and Fox News. Mervin’s favorite past time was spending time with his family, especially great-grandchildren.

Surviving is his loving companion of 50 years, Brenda Kuhn of Newville; children, Tricia Morrison of Carlisle, Barbara Kuhn (Andy) of Carlisle, Jessica Thorne-Quinones (Jose) of Tennessee, and Mervin Kuhn, Jr. (Patty) of Carlisle; step-children, Kay Myers ( Ryan), Robert Ryan, Jr. (Lisa), John Ryan (Sherry); grandchildren, Heather Morrison, Kera Turner (Gabrielle), Samantha Chandler , Nocole Wright ( Jamie), Noah Chandler, Jaren Ryan, Elijah Ryan, Colby Ryan, and Saydee Ryan; great-grandchildren, Kathryn Christlieb, Aliyah Ryan, Zyhaire David Joe Keck, Aiden Wright, and Addison Wright. Also surviving are his sisters, Nancy Crater (Robert), Connie McConnell (Thomas), both of Middletown; sister-in-law, Minnie Bolen; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Mervin was preceded in death by his siblings, Beverly Crater, Paul and William Bolen.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago, IL, 60601. Arrangements are being handled by the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Mt. Holly Springs, PA.
