Matthew Aaron Robinson, 36, of Boiling Springs, PA, passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at his home. He was born on July 3, 1989, in Carlisle, to Dennis W. and Denise Anne (Cook) Robinson.
Matt’s life was defined by his deep faith, remarkable musical gifts and love for his family and community. He was a devoted member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Carlisle, the Wednesday Club of Harrisburg, served on the Board of Directors of the Charles Bruce Foundation, and was President of Cal’s Hope, a local non-profit dedicated to suicide prevention. Most recently, he served as Executive Director of the Music Under the Dome concert series at the Cathedral Parish of Saint Patrick in Harrisburg.
An acclaimed baritone, Matt performed major works including Handel’s Messiah, Schubert’s Mass in G, Haydn’s Paukenmesse and The Creation, Mozart’s Coronation Mass and Requiem Mass, and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9. He appeared as a concert soloist with ensembles such as the Allegro Symphony Orchestra (Lancaster), the West Shore Symphony Orchestra (Camp Hill), the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra and Dubois’ Seven Last Words of Christ (Lancaster). Beyond classical and opera, Matt had a passion for musical theatre. His most notable roles included Archibald Craven (The Secret Garden), Caiaphas (Jesus Christ Superstar), Javert (Les Misérables), and Bill Sykes (Oliver!).
Matt also shared his love of music through teaching. As a voice instructor at The Perfect 5th, he trained students in musical theater, classical, opera, and Gregorian chant. A gifted and self-taught organist, he found joy not only in performing but also in creating new musical arrangements.
Active in the community, Matthew volunteered his time singing for local organizations including the Hampden Township Veterans Recognition Committee, the Rotary Club of the West Shore, and the Central PA Marine Associates.
Beyond music, Matt was a loyal and passionate Philadelphia Eagles (Go Birds!), Penn State, and Phillies fan. He will be fondly remembered for his ability to make people laugh, his excessive fantasy football prep, his deep love for those close to him and his charitable heart.
In addition to his parents, Matt is survived by his two sisters, Elizabeth Hamen (Brian) and Katharine Johnson (Michael); niece and nephew, Adalyn Hamen and Brayden Johnson; his beloved cat, Ella; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will deeply miss him.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick Church, 85 Marsh Drive, Carlisle, PA 17015, with Father Samuel Dubois officiating. Refreshments will follow in the Parish Activity Center. Arrangements are being handled by Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. Condolences may be shared at HollingerFuneralHome.com.

Donations may be made at: Cal’s Hope, 804 Petersburg Rd., Carlisle, PA 17013 or at calshope.com.
Though his song has ended, the melody of Matthew’s life will continue to echo in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
