Mary C. Hess

Mary C. Hess, 89, of Dillsburg, Pennsylvania passed away at home, Friday, April 25, 2025. Born May 5, 1935 in Cearfoss, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Virlus and Susanna (Horst) Rudolph.

She is survived by her husband, Galen Hess, her companion for 63 years. She was a member of the Kralltown Mennonite Church since 1966.

In addition to her husband she is survived by four sons, Michael and wife Linda, Dillsburg, Pennsylvania, Ray, Carlisle, Pennsylania, Lamar and wife Sharon, Dillsburg, Pennsylvania, Leroy and wife Sherry, Dillsburg, Pennsylvania, and two daughters, Elaine Earhart and husband David, Dillsburg, Pennsylvania and Joyce Paylor and husband Mark, Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, 17 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Also surviving are a brother, Noah Rudolph and sister, Martha (Roy) Petre.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Bryant Earhart, five brothers, Amos, David, John, Nathan, Paul, and one sister, Esther Weaver.

Mary enjoyed her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She always enjoyed growing flowers in her garden and hunting for mushrooms in the spring with her family.

A viewing will be held Wednesday afternoon and evening, April 30, from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM at the Kralltown Mennonite Church, 6719 Davidsburg Road, East Berlin, Pennsylvania. The funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, May 1 at Kralltown Mennonite Church.
