Margaret Lynn

Margaret E. (Bettie) Lynn, 94, of Carlisle passed away Thursday, Nov. 15 at the home of her daughter, Elaine Ludt. Bettie was the widow of Elias F. Lynn and was born October 20, 1918 in Saxton, Bedford County, PA to the late Charles C. & Roxie Ola Foreman Stapleton.

During her years in Saxton, she was a member of Saxton # 161 Order of Eastern Star. Bettie attended Carlisle First Church of God and was a member of the Jolly Old Timers at the church. She was also a former member of the Carlisle Garden Club.  Bettie enjoyed reading, sewing and knitting, and liked to travel around the US and to Australia.

She is survived by two sons, Larry F. (Pat) Lynn of Sebring, FL and Richard E. (Lorraine) Lynn of Coffs Harbor, New South Wales, Australia and her daughter, M. Elaine (Mike) Ludt of Carlisle. Also surviving are nine grandchildren: Tammy E. Lynn, Timothy W. (Amy) Lynn, Jamie L. Barber, Matthew L. (Lisa) Ludt, Loriann Heraman, Adam (Penny) Lynn, and Angela (John) Welsh; Justin (Megan) Kunkel and Ryan Kunkel.  In addition, there are eleven surviving great grandchildren: Jada, Zoe and Raif Barber; Gabriel Lynn; Josh, Rachael, Timothy, and Samuel Heraman; Georga and Summer Welsh; and Kenley Kunkel.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, November 24 at 2:00 PM at the Carlisle First Church of God, 705 Glendale Street, Carlisle, PA 17013 with Rev. Alan Mathna officiating. Interment will be in the Grandview Cemetery, Saxton at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Celtic Hospice, 220 Wilson Street, Carlisle, PA 17013; The Amelia Givin Library, 114 North Baltimore Avenue, Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065 or her church. Arrangements are being handled by the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc.,Mt. Holly Springs, PA.
