Lou Duprey

Lou Ella Duprey, 88, of Carlisle, PA and formerly of Newville, PA passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2016 with her family by her side. She was born September 1, 1928 in Shippensburg, PA to the late Harry C. and Reba A. Gipe Mentzer. Lou was the widow of Robert F. Duprey who passed away December 14, 1967.

Lou had worked at Minerva Mills in Carlisle , Handi Markets, and Cumberland County Prison. She was an avid reader, especially of the Bible, and liked to color and play bingo.

She is survived by two sons, Gene (Nancy) Mentzer of Newville and Harry "Butch" (Penny) Duprey of Huntsdale; three daughters, Connie Taylor and Dollie (Skip) Howe both of Newville and Kay (Bill) Powers of Carlisle; 13 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and 9 great great grand children; and a son in law, Gus Stine. Lou was predeceased by a daughter, Reabie Stine; 3 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; and son in law, William Taylor; and two half sisters, S. Isabelle Fitting and Winifred Weaver.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 15, 2016 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Richard Reese officiating in the  Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt.
