Lester Miller

Lester W. Miller, 90, of Gardners, PA passed away Thursday, August 17, 2017 at the Penn State Hershey Medical Center. Lester was born February 4, 1927 in Carlisle, PA to the late Theodore and Velva Rupp Miller.

Lester retired in 1985 from M H Dielectrics Inc. as a Maintenance Mechanic. A member of the Uriah United Methodist Church, he taught the Men’s Bible Sunday School Class for many years and, along with his wife, Zeina, was advisor to the church’s youth group for a few years. An avid fisherman, Lester also enjoyed hunting, bowling and golf.  He served in the U.S. Navy as Seebie during WWII, having been stationed in Pearl Harbor, Guam, Iwo Jima and Japan.

Surviving is his loving wife of 59 years, Zeina D. Miller; two daughters, Sherry L. and Marcy A. Miller, both of Gardners; his grand dog Beau; and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Lester was predeceased by his sisters, Aileen Monismith and Winifred Gossard.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 21, 2017 at 10:00 AM in the Uriah United Methodist Church, 925 Goodyear Rd., Gardners, PA 17324, with Rev. Andrew Ervin officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Burial will be held in the Uriah Church Cemetery with the Cumberland County Honor Guard presenting the honors.
