Leslie Griffie

Leslie E. Griffie, 60, of Mt. Holly Springs, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at his home. He was born January 22, 1954 in Carlisle to the late Ralph and Laura Hamilton Griffie, Sr.  He was retired from the Ahlstrom Filtration Co. and was a member of the United Steel Workers Union # 629. Memberships include: Mt. Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Goodyear, Little Bear Camp, NRA, National Wild Turkey Federation, and Arnot Sportsman’s Club.  An avid hunter, he enjoyed nature and the outdoors. Leslie dearly loved his family and precious grandson.

Leslie is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Kathy J. Murray Griffie; his two sons, Gregory A. of Mechanicsburg and Lyle O. (Emily) Griffie of Dillsburg; and his grandson, Caleb Griffie. Also surviving are two brothers, Ralph (Doris) Griffie Jr. of Boiling Springs and Timothy (Earl Keister) Griffie of Lakeland FL. and two sisters, Shirley (Nelson) Asper of Biglerville and Stella Prosser of Gardners, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law Stanley Prosser.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, with Rev. David Clark officiating. Interment will be in the Goodyear Cemetery. A viewing will be held Friday, August 1 from 6 to 8 PM and 1 hour prior to the service on Saturday.
