Lawrence "Larry" Bard

Lawrence Nugent "Larry" Bard passed away Tuesday, 15 May 2018 at home, surrounded by his loving family.

Larry was born in Shirleysburg, PA on 12 June 1930 to Lawrence and Irene Cumming Bard. His devoted wife of 65 years, Nancy, survives along with children Laryn with companion Patrick, Timothy, Luke and Samantha with companion Chris; grandchildren, Jennifer Kemp, Sarah, Michael and William Murphy, Joshua Bard and Benjamen Bybee; great-grandchildren Joshua, Tyler and Tanner Kemp and newborn James Jacob Bard. Also surviving is great-great-granddaughter Lilliana Kemp and sister Jean Leonard.

He was predeceased by his parents, son Tom and siblings Jerry Bard, Mike Bard and Kay McMonigal.

Larry retired from the United States Air Force, serving his country in the Berlin Airlift and Vietnam Conflict. Retiring in 1970, Larry and Nancy moved to Carlisle, PA so he could play golf and reconnect with family. In his later years, Larry particularly enjoyed his friendships and fellowship with the Mennonite community.

Services will be 16 June 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Good Shepherd Community United Methodist Church, 2135 Ritner Hwy, Carlisle, PA.
