Kathy Sue Tate

April 16, 1950 — December 23, 2023

Carlisle

Kathy Sue (Peach) Tate, 73, passed away on December 23, 2023, after a long 10-year battle of Cancer. Her final moments were spent peacefully in her home in Carlisle, PA, surrounded by family.

Kathy was born on April 16, 1950, to Herman & Helen (Gordon) Peach in Greensburg, PA. After Kathy graduated from Fairfield High School in 1968, she went on to study Science in Health & Physical Education at Lock Haven University.

After graduating with a bachelor’s degree, she started her first job at Farmers Trust Bank and then was employed at Blue Cross till she retired. Because she wasn’t one to sit still, she enjoyed many part time jobs. After retirement she enjoyed working part time for Carlisle Productions during the car shows. She also enjoyed volunteering at the Carlisle Hospital for many years.

In 1986, Kathy married Marlin Tate in Myrtle Beach, SC, one of their favorite travel spots. The couple loved to travel and spent winters in Florida and summers in Delaware.

In 2000, after retirement Kathy and husband spent their time traveling around the United States.  Kathy was always happy when she was on the water casting her fishing line or looking for seashells. She was always the first to catch a fish and always pulled the biggest one out of the water. When not by the water, you would find her on the golf course with her lady friends.

Kathy was predeceased by her father Herman and mother Helen Peach and is survived by her loving husband Marlin Tate and extended family members. Even though Kathy had no siblings, Marty’s family adopted her as one of them.  She loved spending time with the many nieces and nephews showing them her fishing tricks and shell finding secrets.

A private ceremony will be held at Fort Indiantown Gap. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to an organization that Kathy felt very strongly about, The American Cancer Society.
