Karla (Kauffman) Bear

Karla (Kauffman) Bear, 78, a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on November 25, 2025, in the UPMC Carlisle Hospital. She was born April 23, 1947, in Harrisburg to the late Lincoln E. and Roxanne R. (Henry) Bear and was the widow of Robert David Bear, who passed away in July of this year.

Karla grew up in the Central Dauphin School District and later attended Maryland Medical Secretary School, beginning a career dedicated to helping others. Known for her creativity and generosity, Karla loved quilting and crafting, often sharing her talents with family and friends. She dedicated countless hours volunteering at the VFW in Mt. Holly Springs. One of her greatest joys was hosting “Nana Camp”, where she spent summers caring for her grandchildren and neighborhood children, creating cherished memories filled with laughter and love.

Surviving is her son, Chad Bear (Elizabeth) of Carlisle and beloved grandchildren, Alyssa Bear, Spencer Bear, and Kylie Bear. In addition to her parents and husband, Karla was preceded in death by her son, Scott Bear; and brother, Kim Kauffman.

Karla will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to family. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, November 28, 2025, at 5:00 PM in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 501 N. Baltimore Ave, Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065 with Rev. Richard Reese officiating. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the services and burial will take place on Saturday, November 29, at 11:00 AM in the Mt. Holly Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VFW Post 7343, Ladies Auxiliary, 424 N. Walnut Street, Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065.
