June Louise (Sherman) Barge

June Louise Barge, 79, of Mechanicsburg, PA, passed away on May 22, 2025, in the Sarah Todd Memorial Nursing Home. Born in Carlisle, she was the daughter of the late John Hunter and Freida Loretta Sherman and was the widow of John Dennis Barge who passed away in September of 2008.

June graduated from Boiling Springs High School. She worked for Mack Steam Cleaners and retired from Safety Kleen Corporation. She was an active member of Shiremanstown United Methodist Church where she enjoyed working in the church’s kitchen. She was also a member of Margaret V. Waterman Memorial Court 105 Order of Amaranth. While her daughters were in the band and for a few years after, June helped with the Cumberland Valley Band boosters and ran the concession stands. She loved to travel and quilt in her free time.

Surviving are her children, Michael (Janice) Barge of Enola, Traci (Michael Jr.) Moyer of Enola, and Terri (Brian) Noll of Shermans Dale; three grandchildren, Brent, Amy, and Mackenzie; two great grandchildren, Tanner and Wyatt; and siblings, Charles, Richard, and Robert Sherman, and Nancy Line. In addition to her parents and husband, June was preceded in death by her siblings, John Sherman, Jr., and Joyce Wenner.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065 with Rev Richard Reese officiating. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the services and burial will take place in the Dauphin Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
