Judy Elaine Barbour

Judy Elaine (Beam) Barbour, 85, of Gardners, PA, passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, in the Green Ridge Village Nursing Home, Newville. She was born March 20, 1940, in Carlisle to the late Lester and Martena (Paxton) Beam and was the widow of Donald Lee Barbour who passed away in 2000.

Judy was a graduate of Carlisle High School class of 1958. Judy began her career working for the Cumberland County TB Health Association in 1960, and then Reeves Hoffman in Carlisle. She later became a homemaker then finished her working career at Pfaltzgraff Company, when the company closed its doors. She was a member of the Mt. Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Upper Bermudian Lutheran Parish. Judy was very active with her church, serving with the Ladies Aide, also as a Sunday School teacher, Secretary, and member of the Altar Guild. Judy enjoyed exercising and taking casual walks. In her spare time, she would bird watch, enjoyed gardening, and reading. What Judy enjoyed the most was spending time with her family and friends on her front porch.

Surviving are her children, Nanette (Duane) Helm of Gettysburg, Nancy (Merle) Matthews of Elliottsburg, and Jennifer (Keith) Malinosky of Mt. Holly Springs; grandchildren, Dawn Helm, James Boulliane, Evan and Breanne Griffie, Kyle and Tanner Malinosky, Samantha, Jacob, and Aaron Matthews, and Courtney Hess; nine great grandchildren; brother, Jack Beam of Newville; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Judy was preceded in death by her son, Leon Barbour and sister, Jeannette Adams.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, May 12, 2025, at 1:00 PM in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065 with Pastor Neal McCulloch officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to services and burial will take place in Goodyear Cemetery.
