Juan “John” Kennedy, 72, of Mt. Holly Springs, PA passed away Friday, February 7, 2014 in his home surrounded by his loving family including his faithf ul, four-legged friend, Jasper “Badness” Kennedy . He was the widower of Suzanne M. Schmick Kennedy who passed away July 10, 2010. Juan was born September 21, 1941 in Altoona, to the late Ronald and Jane Frye Kennedy.

After nearly 20 years of service, Juan retired from Cressler Trucking Co. where he was awarded Driver of the Year. He was a member of the Mt. Holly Springs Church of God, the South Mountain Sons of the American Legion Post 674, and the Mt. Holly Springs VFW Post 7343. An avid outdoorsman and member of the Old Folks Hunting Club, Juan loved hunting, camping, and spending time in the mountains with family and friends.

In addition to the “Golden Child” Jasper, Juan issurvived by two daughters,Pamela (Steven) Knowlton of Newville and Kelly (Jason) Richwine of Carlisle; and five sons, Tony Kennedy and fiancé Lisa Snyder of Newville, Jason (Jennifer) Kennedy of Boiling Springs, Devin (Natalie) Kennedy of Carlisle, Kevin (Trina) Kennedy of Knoxville, TN, and Jerry Kennedy. Also surviving are sixteen grandchildren and his sister, Rachael Blessing of Carlisle. He was predeceased by his sister Mary Kennedy.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at 11:00 AM in his church at 602 McLand Rd., Mt. Holly Springs,PA 17065 with Rev. Richard Reese officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. A visitation and luncheon will follow services in the church social hall; all are invited. Memorial contributionsmay be made to the Mt. Holly Springs Food Bank, c/o Mt. Holly Springs Church of God. Arrangements are being handled by the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, PA.
