John Tyson

John E. Tyson, 85, of Palmyra, passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at his residence. John was born June 10, 1932 in Mill Hall, PA, to the late Harry and Maude (Stover) Tyson.

John retired from the Lancaster United States Postal Service, as a Mail Handler. Residing in Blain, PA, from 1988 to 2003, he was a member of the National Rifle Association and the American Legion Post 177, Newport, PA. John was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War.

Surviving is his loving wife, Helen G. Tyson of Palmyra; daughter, Rose Ann Brown and husband, Robert of Palmyra; brother,  Wayne Tyson of Lancaster; and sister, Idella Mae Weaver of Lancaster, PA. In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by two sisters, Carrie Anna and Grace Emily Blevins and two brothers, Ray Owen and Harry Ellsworth Tyson

Graveside Services were  held Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Blain Cemetery, 301 Big Spring Rd., Blain, PA 17006. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 20 E. Pomfret St., Carlisle, PA 17013. Online condolences may be made to www.hollingerfuneralhome.com
