John R. Shell

John R. Shell, 96, of Mechanicsburg, PA, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2026, in his home. He was born May 31, 1930, in Mechanicsburg to the late John W. and Grace (Nailor) Shell. John was the widower of Dolores (Louise) Shell who passed away in October of 2025.

John was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He worked for the borough of Mechanicsburg and then went onto work for Purina in Mechanicsburg. John was a life member of the VFW Post 7530 in Mechanicsburg and was an avid hunter, trapper, and fisherman in his younger years. He also loved working around his home on projects.

Surviving is his son, John Shell (Elaine) of Boiling Springs and siblings, Thomas Shell of Florida and Janet Baker of Camp Hill.

Per Johns wishes, there will be no services at this time. Burial will be held in Chestnut Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Mt. Holly Springs.
