John Brandeburg

John P. Brandeburg, 74, of North Middleton Twp., Carlisle passed away at his home on Thursday, July 18, 2013. He was born October 4, 1938 in Kittanning-Ford City, PA to the late Paul and Josephine Suwala Brandeburg.

John retired from the PPG Industries with 39 years of service, transferring from Crestline, Ohio in 1971. He was a member of the White Circle Club, Eagles Aerie # 1299 and the Loyal Order of Moose # 761. John was an avid golfer, loved ocean fishing, and all kinds of sports.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann Williams Brandeburg; his daughter, Pam (Taren) Shumaker of Carlisle; and two sons, Eric S. (Suzanne) McAllister of St. Mary’s, Georgia and Douglas R. (Christina) Brandeburg of Carlisle. Also surviving are seven grandchildren: Tyler, Kaitlin, Garrett, Emily, Dylan, Riley and Erin and two great grandchildren, Grayson and Emilynn. In addition, John is survived by two brothers, George (Julia) of Boiling Springs and Richard (Linda) of Ontario, Ohio, and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial service will be held Sunday, July 21 at 4:00 PM in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, PA with Rev Richard Ruff officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Holly Springs Cemetery at the convenience of the family. A visitation will be held on Sunday prior to the service from 2:30 PM until 4:00 PM in the funeral home.
