Joan Penwright

Joan M. Penwright,71, of Carlisle, PA and formerly of East Amherst, NY, passed away on Monday, September 17, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born December 27, 1946 in West Shelby, NY to the late Max and Edith (Crawford) Quackenbush, she is survived by her husband of 51 years, David W. Penwright.

Joan graduated from Medina High School, Medina, NY. She was a loving wife, mother, "grandmi" and friend; Joan cherished spending time with her family and words cannot define her spirit. Known for her generosity, compassion and strength, she will be dearly missed.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, David Penwright Jr. of Carlisle, PA; Rachel Sorgi (Joseph) of Elma, NY; Marc Penwright of Carlisle, PA; and Rhonda Naro (Jesse) of Malvern, PA. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Lindsay Penwright, Nathan and Emma Sorgi, and Lauren and Jack Naro.
