James Wolfe

James William Wolfe, 90, of Mechanicsburg, PA, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. Born October 6, 1929 in Milton, PA to the late Russell John and Nellie Mae (Truckenmiller) Wolfe, he is survived by his wife of 66 years, Margaret Claire (Wright) Wolfe.

Jim retired from Bethlehem Steel with 33 years of service as a supervisor and machinist. Then launched into a second career, working 23 years in the Maintenance Dept. for the Northern York School District. Jim was an Army veteran of the Korean War serving in the Corp of Engineers division and a 60 plus year member of the Eureka Lodge No. 302 F&AM. An outdoor enthusiast, he enjoyed hunting, camping and yard work and participated in sports such as golf, tennis and bowling. Jim was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, served on the Vestry, Property committee and was an usher.

In addition to his wife,  he is survived by his children, Susan Leslie Hack and husband Patrick of Wellsville, PA and John Wright Wolfe and wife Patricia of Norristown, PA and grandchildren, Katherine Jane Wolfe, John Wright Wolfe II, Bridget Claire Hack and Bethany Susan Hack. Jim was predeceased by his siblings, Mildred, Robert, George, Florence, Marlin, Ruth and Leroy.

Services will be held on Friday, June 19, 2020 in his church, 8 E. Keller St. Mechanicsburg, PA 17055 at 2:00 PM with the Rev. Dr. David S. Harper, celebrant. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Mechanicsburg Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Masonic Village at Elizabethtown, 1 Masonic Dr., Elizabethtown, PA 17022.

Due to social distancing requirements, seating in the sanctuary is limited for the funeral service. The service will be streamed live via You Tube for your convenience.
