Jack Lawrence Brandt

Jack Lawrence Brandt, 82, of Carlisle, PA, passed away March 20, 2024, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 5, 1942, in Gardners, PA to the late Lawrence Eugene and Esther R. (Harry) Brandt.

Jack worked for Aycock and Herre Bro. Construction and was a member of the local 1180 Labors Union. He was one of the original members of the Quarter Aces Car Club, helping establish the club in 1958. Jack enjoyed everything racing, even building his own race car from the ground up. You would always find him at the local racetracks, including South Mountain Dragway, Silver Springs Speedway, and Williams Grove Speedway. On Sundays, Jack would race his own drag car at the South Mountain Dragway. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching racing, including NASCAR and snowmobile racing.

Surviving is his loving wife of 58 years, Gloria “Jean” Brandt of Carlisle; children, Todd Eugene Brandt (Companion, Sharron) of Carlisle, Stacey L. Miranda (Victor) of Carlisle and Shane J. Brandt (Fiancé, Kim) of Boiling Springs; Grandchildren, Tyler Smith, Brooke Brandt, Amanda Odonnel-Jones and Chase Brandt; and 4 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are four nephews, Jason, George, Tony and Jeff Brandt and niece, Wendy Witmer. Jack was preceded in death by his siblings Tom and Don Brandt, and Carol Tanger.

A memorial service will be held, Thursday, March 28, 2024, at 11:00 AM in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. with Pastor Dick Warner officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dementia Society of America or American Cancer society.
