Hilda S. Marcello

Hilda S. (Brannen) Marcello, 93, of Carlisle, PA, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2025, in her home. She was born on September 25, 1932, to the late Chalmer L. and Frances Ruth Brannen of Williamsburg.

Hilda graduated from Williamsburg High School and the Altoona School of Commerce. She attended Millersville State Teachers College for two years. Hilda was last employed as a Secretary to the Treasurer of Dickinson College for thirteen years. She became a member of the Allison United Methodist Church in 1966 when the Church was located on the Dickinson College Campus. At the time of her passing, she was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church.

Hilda had a special interest in decorating, needlework, and designing greeting cards. She was a very giving person and pleasant to friends and people she met. Hilda would be pleased to be remembered in that way.

Surviving is her loving husband after 72 years of marriage, Alfred J. “Skip” Marcello; son, Douglas Marcello (Kathy); granddaughters, Sarah Marcello ad Emily Takeuchi (Emil). In addition to her parents, Hilda was preceded in death by her twin sister, Linda Isenberg.

A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. If you wish to honor Hilda you may make a contribution to “Pink Hands of Hope” 201 E. Green Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, an organization that supports women’s needs with breast cancer. This organization was very important to Hilda who had surgery and lost her twin sister to the dreaded disease.
