Harry G. Woods, Jr. of Camp Hill, PA passed away on Friday, April 26th.  He was born April 25, 1924 in Bluefield, West Virginia to the late Harry Sr. and Bessie Woods.  A WWII veteran, Harry joined the US Navy at age 18 and proudly served aboard the USS Randolph and USS Charger.

After the war Harry attended Marshall College, graduating in 1948.  After working 13 years with his father in the mechanical contracting business, Harry began working as a Project Manager and Estimator for several companies in Washington DC and Pittsburgh.  He enjoyed his work, and moved to Camp Hill, PA in 1993 where he married Margaret Ruth Woods and began consulting for local mechanical contracting companies.  He worked well into his eighties.

Harry was a man of deep faith.  He was actively involved in several Baptist churches, including North Park Baptist Church while living in Pittsburgh, and Country & Town Baptist Church in Mechanicsburg, PA.

Those who knew Harry well appreciated his sense of humor, positive outlook on life, and easy-going nature. He loved to play golf, take long walks in his Camp Hill neighborhood, and spend time with family and friends.

Harry was preceded in death by his first wife of 45 years, Bernese Woods, his son Harry G. Woods III, and two sisters Maxine and Frankie.

Surviving are his wife of 20 years Margaret Ruth Woods, and his extended family that includes 4 children, 10  grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 18th, 11am at Country & Town Baptist Church, 1822 S. Market St., Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dolan Henry Mission Fund, Keystone Baptist Association, 837 North U.S. Route 15, Dillsburg, PA  17019  (717) 502 0280.
