Harry W. Eckenrode, 95, passed away Saturday, January 5, in the Church of God Home. He was born in Cumberland County to the late William & Alice Virginia Gouffer Eckenrode and was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy F. Eckenrode who passed away October 2, 2004. Harry was also preceded in death by his brother, Daniel and sister, Mary Jane Feeser.
He attended Boiling Springs High School and was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church, 64 East North St., Carlisle, PA 17013 and belonged to the Men’s Bible Class. Harry retired from the former C.H. Masland & Sons. He was a lifetime member of St. John’s Lodge # 260 F&AM.
Harry is survived by his daughter, Donna L. Moyer and her husband Ronald of Carlisle, and two granddaughters, Michele of Williamsburg, VA and LaRae of Fallston, NC
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday at 11:30 AM in the chapel of his church, with Rev. Mira Hewlett officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Holly Springs Cemetery at the convenience of the family. A luncheon will follow the memorial service in the church with family & friends invited. There will be no viewing. Memorial contributions may be made to his church or the Church of God Home, 801 N. Hanover St., Carlisle 17013.
Arrangements are being handled by the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065.
