Gerald R Forry

Gerald “Diz” R. Forry, 95, of Mechanicsburg, PA, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2023, at Bridges at Bent Creek in Mechanicsburg. He was born October 5, 1928, in Mechanicsburg to the late Penrose and Laura Romaine (Hertzler) Forry. He was the widower of Thelma Forry who passed in 2018.

He retired from NAPA Quaker City Auto Parts as a manager. He was a member of the Trindle Springs Lutheran Church. Gerald was very active, serving locally, and for the county and state. He served on Mechanicsburg Borough Council for over 20 years, and he did as much as he could for his beloved community. He was a US Navy Veteran serving during the Korean conflict.

Surviving are his daughters, Deborah (Frank) Donlevy of Mechanicsburg, Linda (James) Manotti of Mechanicsburg and Rebecca Forry of Landsdale; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers, Delvin, and Marlin Forry.

A funeral service will be held Friday, December 8, 2023, at 11:00 AM in the Trindle Spring Lutheran Church, 14 State Road, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050 with Rev. Aaron M Erdley officiating. A viewing will be held at 10:00 AM until the time of service. Burial will be held in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mechanicsburg Museum Association, 2 W. Strawberry Alley, Mechanicsburg PA 17055.
