George Bruce Shank

George Bruce Shank, 87, of Carlisle, PA, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2026, in his home. He was born on January 5, 1939, in Mt. Holly Springs, PA, to the late George B. Schriver and Goldie (Shank) Berger.

George proudly served in the United States Army. He was a Boiling Springs High School graduate class of 1957 and played on the championship football team his senior year. George was owner/operator of several Restaurants. He loved flying and running the family businesses.

Surviving is his loving wife, JoAnn (Benjamin) Shank of Carlisle; children, Gregory Shank (Adonna) of Carlisle, Richard Shank (Esther) of Carlisle, Victoria Stone (Paul) of Bloserville; grandchildren, Sarah Trainor, Nickolas Shank, and Richard Shank; and brother, Richard L. Berger of Carlisle. In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his children, George Bruce Shank and Theresa Grace Shank; and sisters, Elizabeth Dilbeck and Martha Berger.
