Gary Lee Quesenberry, 78, of Carlisle and previously Gardners, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2026, in the UPMC Carlisle after a long courageous battle with mesothelioma. He was born to the late Irvin William and Helen (Doyle) Quesenberry.
Gary was a Bubbler and graduated from Boiling Springs High School class of 1966. He served 4 years in the Navy as an electrician’s mate (EM) and then worked at PPG in Mt. Holly Springs for many years. He also owned and operated the Mister Donut/Dunkin Donut in Mt. Holly Springs. Gary retired from working at the US Army War College as the post electrician.
Gary was a long-time member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Carlisle which he had very joyously returned to from Christ Lutheran in Aspers after moving back to Carlisle from Gardners. Gary loved nothing more than cruising in the Caribbean and took over 32 pleasure cruises after he left the Navy. His last few years he was watched over and comforted by a faithful German shorthaired pointer (GSP) named Nala.
Surviving is his wife, Marsha of Carlisle; six children, Ursula Griffie, Melissa, Spurlock, Candy Quesenberry, Jennifer Glunt, Christopher Quesenberry, and Patrick Quesenberry; three grandchildren, Satorri Wilson, Emma Spurlock, and Parker Mathes; and brother, William “Bill” Quesenberry (wife, Wini) of Lake Placid, FL. Gary was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Doyle Lott; brother, Michael H. Quesenberry; and granddaughter, Reagan Spurlock.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, July 3, 2026, at 11:00 AM in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 501 N. Baltimore Ave, Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065 with Rev. Ronald Jones officiating. A visitation will be held at 10:30 AM until time of services and burial will take place in the Mt. Holly Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W. Louther Street, Carlisle, PA 17013 or Christ Lutheran, P.O. Box 165, Aspers, PA 17304.
