Frances "Mike" Michael

Frances  "Mike" Michael, formerly of Mt. Holly Springs went to be with our Lord Wednesday, March 15, 2017. She was 94 years old.

Frances is survived by her children, Michael  Michael (Toni Michael) and Mylene DePalma (James DePalma); her grandchildren, Jon Michael (Kim Michael) and Tommy Crum (Andi Crum); and her great grandchildren, Mykalle, Mckenzi, Devin, Eli and Tommy J. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson L. Michael, daughter, Michelle, and sister, Marilyn Buote.

Frances was born January 5, 1923 in Denver, CO to the late John Curtis and Clella Bilsing Daly. She was married to Nelson for 55 years. Frances served as a WAVE, being a nurse in the United States Navy during WWII. She was a fanatical baseball fan, following the Phillies for 48 years. Frances was an extraordinary "needle pointer" and her family is proud to have her works of art in their homes; she was a member of the Embroiders Guild of America.  Frances loved to write and had pen-pals from all over the world. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. To this day, students remember her for her wisdom and birthday cakes she would bake to celebrate their birthdays. She was a wonderful mother and an inspiration to all that met her.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the First Presbyterian Church, 2A  North Hanover Street, Carlisle, PA 17013 with the Rev. Anthony Lorenz officiating.  A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be in the Mt. Holly Springs Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the Cumberland County Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to be made to her church.
