Floyd B. Deitch, Jr., 82, of Newville, PA, passed away February 22, 2024, at his residence. He was born December 28, 1941, in Carlisle, to the late Floyd B. and Margaret (Zell) Deitch, Sr.

Floyd retired from Coyle Lumber & Co., where he was a woodworker. He was a member of the Williams Grove Historical Steam Engine Association. Floyd enjoyed going to horse races with his father and continued his passion for horses throughout his life. In his spare time, he loved working with his hands; especially woodworking, eventually paying the ultimate price by loosing a couple fingertips. Additionally, Floyd enjoyed fishing, wildlife, and going to flea markets.

Surviving is his loving wife, Mildred (Myers) Deitch of Newville; children, Jeffrey Deitch of Carlisle, Tracy Shay of Shermans Dale, and Barry Deitch of Newville; grandchildren, Jasmine Deitch and Andrew Huber both of Carlisle, Heather Lynn Alleman of Centerville and Barry Deitch, Jr., of Newville; and one great grandson. Floyd was preceded in death by his daughter, Stacy Huber and sisters, Lois and Betty.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Central PA Horse Rescue, 100 Spanglers Road, Lewisberry, PA 17339.
