Fay S. Scott

Fay S. Scott, 89, of Mechanicsburg, PA, passed away on January 24, 2024, in the Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home, Carlisle. She was born August 23, 1934, in Duncannon, PA, to the late John Earl Dewey and Alma (Hostetter) Sheaffer and was the widow of Richard J. Scott, who passed away January 5, 2015.

Fay was a Mechanicsburg High School Graduate, class of 1952. She went on to work for Bell Telephone as an accounting clerk, with 40 years of service. After retiring, Fay worked part time at Giant Foods as a cashier. She enjoyed spending time at home, especially outside gardening. She would share her flowers and vegetables with family and friends. In her spare time, she would attend festivals, and enjoyed listening to festival music. She especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Surviving are her loving children, John Richard Scott (wife, Jan) of Carlisle, Debra L. Peebles, and Michael Allen Scott, both of Mechanicsburg; grandchildren, Jason Barnhart, Brian and Sean Peebles; great grandchildren, Carson Wettrich and Joshua Barnhart; sister, Joyce Smiley (husband, Lester) of Shermans Dale. In addition to her husband, Fay was preceded in death by her siblings, Lloyd, Lynn, Robert Sheaffer.
