Eugene C. Cromer, 91, of Shippensburg, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 29, 2025. He was born January 30, 1934, in Gettysburg to the late Cleason H. Cromer, and Margaret (Kemper) Cromer of Carlisle.
Eugene was a graduate of Carlisle High School class of 1952, an Air Force veteran of the Korean War and a federal employee of the NSA in Fort Meade, MD. Upon his retirement, he and his wife, Nedra purchased a farm near Newville where they started Quarry Hill Winery in the 1980’s.
Eugene is survived by his children, Michael Cromer of Newville, Alan Cromer and Cindy Cromer of Shippensburg; his grandson, Abram Cromer; and his great-granddaughter, Skyler Cromer both of Carlisle. In addition to his parents, Eugene was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Nedra L. (Naugle) Cromer; his sister, Mary Elizabeth Kluge; and brother, Richard Cromer.
A memorial service will be held Friday, July 11, 2025, at 1:00 PM in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065 with Pastor Michael Cromer officiating. Eugene’s ashes will be privately interred next to his wife’s remains in the cemetery at Centerville Lutheran Church, Newville. Eugene loved flowers, memorial flowers are encouraged and will be shared with local nursing homes, and other public places after the service. Arrangements are being handled by Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc.
