Elmer Parker Shambaugh departed his body on June 26th and went home to be with his Lord and Savior. He was born November 4, 1933 to the late Mervin and Iva (Stewart) Shambaugh.
Parker was a graduate of Boiling Springs High School (1955) and United Theological Seminary (1959). He retired from the Mechanicsburg Naval Depot and attended West Shore Free Church in Mechanicsburg, PA.
Parker is survived by his wife of 42 years, Dixie Ann Cline Shambaugh; his daughters, Stacy Mellinger (Donald) of MD and Lisa Holsinger (Shawn) of MD; Step sons, Nathan Shields (Marcie) of GA, and Douglas Shields of Shippensburg PA; Step daughter-in-law, Anne Shields of CA; brother Arden Shambaugh of Harrisburg, PA; and sister in laws, Wendy LeBlanc (John) of Huntsdale, PA, Sue Shambaugh of TN and Carolyn Cline of Mechanicsburg; four grandchildren, Brendon Mellinger (Fiancé Alexis Dow) of AZ, Logan Mellinger of MD, and Madison and Caitlin Shields of GA; Step- grandchildren, Robert Mellinger (Christine) of MD, Justin Mellinger (Amber) of MD, Courtney Gee of NY, and Christine Holsinger (Michael Watson) of NC; step-great-grandchildren, Reagan and Grant Mellinger of MD and Nikkal and Austra Gee of NY.
Parker was predeceased by his brothers, Paul, Roy and Richard Shambaugh; his sister, Esther McCalister and stepson, David Shields.
Memorial Service will be held Thursday, July 31, 2025, at 12:00 PM in the West Shore Free Church, 1345 Williams Grove Road, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055 with Dr. Phil Thorne officiating. A visitation will be held at 10:45 AM until time of service. Please use the South Parking Lot of the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his church, West Shore Free Church. Arrangements are being handled by Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Mt. Holly Springs.
