Dorothy Valley

Dorothy G. Valley, 100, of Mt. Holly Springs, PA, passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2020 at Cumberland Crossings, Carlisle, PA. She was born on May 30, 1919 in Lower Burrell, PA to the late Carl and Emma (Baughman) Heintz and was the widow of Rene A. Valley who passed away in 1986.

Dorothy was a graduate of Charleston Catholic High School, Charleston, WV. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Carlisle AmVets Post 274, Carlisle American Legion Post 101, Carlisle VFW Post 477, Boiling Springs VFW Post 8851, Mt. Holly Springs VFW Post 7343, and Carlisle Elks Lodge 578  She enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing cards and drinking Coors Light.

She is survived by her daughter, Susanne Beckholt (Chet) of Mt. Holly Springs, PA; daughter-in-law, Barb Valley; grandchildren, Lacie Ann, Chris and Chuck (Debbie) and great-grandchildren, Chad and Natasha. Also surviving are siblings, Madeline Rowan, Charlotte Webb and Marie Knight, all of St. Albans, WV and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Rene C. Valley and her sister, Kathleen Petry.

Due to the health crisis, a mass of Christian burial will be held at a later date. Burial will be held in St. Patrick Cemetery, Carlisle, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to her church, 152 E. Pomfret St., Carlisle, PA 17013.
