Doris Jane Richwine

Doris Jane (Howery) Richwine, 80, of Gardners, PA, passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, in her home. She was born on October 13, 1944, in Radford, Virginia, to the late Frank and Margaret (Smith) Howery.

Doris was a Gettysburg High School graduate, class of 1964. She attended Chambersburg Nursing School, where she graduated as an LPN. She then went on to work for Gettysburg Hospital, Carlisle Hospital, then Claremont Nursing Home, as an LPN, with over 34 years of service. Doris was a devoted wife, mother, and loved her grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching birds and listening to music, especially Country and Blue Grass. Doris was very active, especially playing golf, tennis, and riding bikes. She and her husband enjoyed camping all over the East Coast and traveling to their vacation home in Florida.

Surviving is her loving husband, Ralph Richwine of Gardners; children, Mark Richwine of Carlisle and Tina Engel (Scot) of Dillsburg; grandchildren, Eli Engel, Paige, and Sabrina. In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her eight siblings.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, September 22, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 501 N. Baltimore Ave, Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065 with Rev. Richard Reese officiating. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services and burial will take place in Mt. Holly Springs Cemetery with a luncheon to follow.
